I’ve lived in this area for over 20 years, and somehow I had never been to Fugitive Beach in Rolla. As someone who loves being in the water... how did I miss this place?!
It’s an old quarry, so the water feels surprisingly clean—none of that heavy chlorine smell or "public pool ick." Yes, it’s about a two-hour drive each way from our local area, but we thought it was well worth it for a fun family day trip.
🏊♀️ What to Expect at Fugitive Beach
Cliff Jumping: Three different cliff jumps (about 10 to 20 feet high) that Neyo and Nala absolutely loved!
Inflatable Water Park: An obstacle course on the water for non-stop play.
Relaxation: A sandy beach area if you’d rather kick back and unwind.
💡 Pro Tip: Bring water shoes! It’s pretty rocky getting in and out of the water.
🧺 Extra Perks for a Full Day of Fun
Another bonus? You’re allowed to bring your own food and drinks, and you can rent a cabana if you want a dedicated home base for the day.
If you’re looking for one last summer adventure before school starts, I’d definitely put Fugitive Beach on your list!
