💧 Important Local Update: Collinsville Drinking Water Advisory


The City of Collinsville has issued public health guidance regarding elevated levels of PFAS ("forever chemicals") in the community water supply. The city recommends filtering tap water for drinking and cooking until long-term treatment upgrades are completed.



Real Estate Impact & Considerations:

  • For Sellers: Consider disclosing the current water advisory on the Residential Real Property Disclosure form to protect yourself and maintain transparency with potential buyers.

  • For Buyers: Factor the cost of adding a certified water filtration system (such as reverse osmosis or PFAS-reducing point-of-use filters) into your budget. Depending on your loan type, lenders may require proof of appropriate filtration or remediation as a condition of financing (which can often be negotiated and potentially paid for by sellers).
